At the Nanavati Max institute of cancer care, we have one of the most comprehensive centres for treatment of colorectal and gastroesophageal cancers. We have a complete armementerium of surgical, medical and radaiation oncology services to cater to this group of cancers.
Dr Ganesh Nagarajan leads the GI Cancer surgical team and is a nationally acclaimed surgeon in this speciality. The oncology Operation Suites are state of the art with 4K laparoscopic systems with ICG. we also have the latest and most advanced Da Vinci Xi system which enables high precision technology for oesophageal and colorectal malignancies. We at Nanavati Max institute of cancer care, perform all kind of surgeries for Gastroesophageal and colorectal cancers from conventional open surgeries to minimally invasive surgeries (laproscopy and Robotic surgeries). We are a high volume centre and also have the expertise to perform all complex surgeries like major pelvic exenterations, multiorgan resections and cytoreductive surgeries and HIPEC for certain types of cancers.
Patients with colorectal cancers who present with liver metastasis are operated routinely with either liver first approach or synchronous resection and chemotherapy first followed by colorectal and liver resection. This cases are discussed in MDT team to make sure patient is offered the best treatment. We have well equipped interventional radiology department led by Dr Anirudha Kulkarni, who carries out ablative therapies and liver directed therapies. At Nanavati Max institute of cancer care, we also have a team of Medical oncologists who are well versed with all the recent regimens of Targeted therapies and Immunotherapy. Our Radiation oncology department is well equipped with most advanced radiation techniques for rectal cancers (short course and long course).
We have a stoma clinic where our nursing staff will carry pre stoma and post stoma counselling of patients.
