Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Overview
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital is dedicated unit offering the highest level of care for premature and critically ill new-borns suffering from complex medical and surgical neonatal problems such as premature delivery, extremely preterm, difficult birth, low weight at birth or other health problems. We have a multidisciplinary team of national and internationally recognised neonatologists, neonatal nurses, and allied health specialists, who work in collaboration with many other specialities within the hospital to offer integrated family-centred care for infants requiring Level III neonatal care.
Our ultra-modern Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides round-the-clock special care in 3 separate areas for babies, which include:
- Level III NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
- Step down nursery for new-born babies
- An isolation area
The unit also offers state-of-the-art services including foetal echocardiography which is done for high-risk pregnancy. The foetal echocardiography gives an insight about the cardiac problems during the antenatal period that a baby might have developed and also the non-cardiac issues which could have a major impact on the overall development of the baby. The unit offers OAE (Otoacoustic Emission) test for all babies born in our hospital, which helps in detecting hearing loss.
