It is a type of surgical process in which a surgeon removes healthy hair from the back of the head which has not been affected by balding or thinning, using a scalpel. The removed hair follicle taken from the donor’s site is then striped into grafts and transplanted into the patient’s site either using the strip harvesting method or a form of direct extraction resulting in natural-looking hair growth.
In this process, a surgeon makes use of the advanced least invasive technique to extract individual hairs from the donor area, usually the back of the head by making hundreds to thousands of tiny punch incisions. These follicles are now relocated to the donor’s site by making tiny holes in the area. After the transplant, the head is covered with gauze, or bandages for a few days. In this process, hundreds and thousands of hair follicles are transplanted at a single time.
